Removing the hassle of medical reporting

Cardiff-based technology company, Medi2data, has launched a free outsourced medical reporting service for GP practices.

eMR+ allows practices to outsource to Medi2data the completion of Subject to Access Requests (SARs) as well as insurance, government and firearms reports.

Virtual surgery

The service operates through using the company’s proprietary software, eMR, a web interface linking the GP practice and Medi2data within the NHS HSCN secure environment.

This allows for all third-party instructions and patient consent forms to be accessed by Medi2data’s ‘virtual surgery’. The virtual surgery consists of a remote panel of GPs and clinicians, who are able to review and sign-off digitally redacted reports and SARs on behalf of the GP practice.

Supporting GP practices through Covid-19

Medi2data’s CEO, Richard Freeman, said, “GPs and practice staff like the secure protocols and features adopted by eMR, to ensure that all reports completed are GDPR-compliant and of high-quality.”

“Practices are experiencing a spike in the numbers of non-Covid and shielded patients to be seen and managed, this free and efficient service removes a lot of the non-essential pressure – up to 12 hours per week – on staff. Instructing parties are happy because they receive high quality digital reports and patients are happy as their DWP or insurance claim is processed quickly.

“eMR+ automates any fee payments too, which means practice managers can easily keep track of reports and payments, without having to spend time chasing third parties.

“GPs are happy because of the significant time and cost savings, instructing parties are happy because they receive high-quality digital reports, and patients are happy because their DWP or insurance claim is processed quickly.”

Karen Jarvis, from Hopwood House Medical Practice, said, “eMR+ has achieved faster turn-around times, removed labour-intensive processing of paperwork from practice staff and saved our GPs many hours of admin. I would highly recommend this service to any GP practice”.
